This two-day teaching improvement workshop is designed to enhance participants’ versatility as teachers, enable them to use a 7-component educational framework to analyze teaching, and provide a forum for collegial exchange about teaching. Topics include learning climate, control of session, communication of goals, promotion of understanding and retention, evaluation of learners, feedback to learners, and promotion of self-directed learning. The workshop incorporates a variety of instructional methods including didactic presentations, group discussion, video vignette review, role-play and worksheet exercises, and personal goal setting. This very popular workshop is required for those who wish to pursue the Postdoc Teaching Certificate. Attendance in both days is required – please only apply if you can attend both days of this workshop.
