Description: Do you have trouble making a resume when they seem to look so different from a CV? Do you read job postings and wonder how best to express your experience? This lab is designed for those who have not yet done a resume, but will be useful to those looking to improve theirs as well. This lab will help you understand what an employer is looking for, and how you can tailor your applications to demonstrate your understanding of the role. The session will begin with some general tips and guidelines about resumes, and then small peer review sessions so that you can see multiple ways for expressing yourself and improving your delivery. You're welcome to join the lab without a resume draft. If you have one, you will get feedback from your peers. We also encourage you to make an individual appointment in Handshake with one of our PhD/Postdoc career coaches after you've worked on your draft.
LOCATION: This lab happens via Zoom. The Zoom information will be sent to you via Handshake after you register. Please check your junk, spam, trash, clutter and any other folder that may not recognize the email sender. IF you cannot find the location, please email me at urmilav@stanford.edu no later than 15 minutes before the lab begins.
