Mollie Pettit is a Data Visualization Engineer with Netflix where she builds data - visualization - focused web apps to facilitate internal decision making. Mollie has worked as a data visualization freelancer for companies including G2, ACLU, and The New Yorker. She's taught Data Visualization at Northwestern and Metis. Before data visualization, Mollie worked as a data scientist for Datascope Analytics, and before that as a geologist for Baker Hughes in Abu Dhabi. Mollie is a founding member and Events Director of the Data Visualization Society. Last year she was shortlisted for the Information is Beautiful Award. When she isn't working, she loves to dance (swing/blue/fusion) and bike. Mollie completed her M.S. in Geological Sciences at Stanford in 2017, focusing on water-driven slope instability and coastal erosion.
