The Philippines lies at the heart of the Coral Triangle, which hosts the world's richest marine biodiversity. Marine megafauna like sharks, turtles and rays, play key ecosystem roles that are essential for healthy oceans. With overfishing, plastic pollution, climate change and other anthropogenic threats crushing their populations, it is imperative to understand how they can be managed and their populations safeguarded. Come hear how the Large Marine Vertebrates Research Institute Philippines (LAMAVE) uses a combination of approaches to inform policy and empower communities for the sustainable management of these species.
