When should you start to publish? Is it better to fully develop your dissertation’s argument before you start publishing on the topic -- or should you publish as soon as you can to “claim” your angle in the field? In this workshop, we’ll discuss considerations about when and how you might start publishing from your dissertation project. We’ll compare advice from across fields, consider how to situate a piece of work from a longer project, and share concrete strategies for adapting the dissertation project into other genres, from articles to monographs. All stages welcome.
