Workshop Description:

When going over your drafts, do you get stuck on sentences or paragraphs that somehow don’t seem “right?” Do you know you could make a sentence stronger and more evocative, but have no idea how? Have you pored over a text you need to cut but worry you will remove something vitally important in the process? These challenges usually center on style issues, or what we often call “flow.” This workshop will show you how to identify those issues and resolve them, making your writing more dynamic, energetic, elegant, and efficient. After reviewing some essential strategies for improving style, you will engage in guided review of your own writing in small groups. Bring a text you’ve been working on to receive feedback and inspiration to get the most mileage out of every word you write.
