In this interactive workshop, you will learn about how to best support and include people with disabilities in all facets of geoscience. We will practice responding to ableism (discrimination against disabled people), brainstorm ways to increase the accessibility of field trips and research, and more. This workshop will be applicable to anyone involved in natural science, including students and staff. 

Bio: 

Gabi is a PhD candidate in the MIT-WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography. Her research focuses on past climate change in Mexico using stalagmites. Outside of lab, she writes science articles for a public audience and advocates for disabled people in STEM. You can find her on Twitter as @gserratomarks.
