ERE 267 Town Hall

ClockFebruary 19, 2020

On February 19, 2020 students enrolled in ERE 267 held a simulated town hall meeting to discuss the merits of replacing a coal-fired plant with cleaner natural gas (and eventually with 100% clean hydrogen) in Utah that furnishes electric power to several cities in Utah and Southern California including the City of Los Angeles.  The Plant provides electricity for 1,500,000 businesses and residences.  The students assumed the roles of various stakeholders (utility executives, local and state regulators, government officials, environmental activists, and workers and homeowners affected by the Plant).  A lively discussion was held before an audience of members of the Stanford Community and the public at large.
