Stanford Earth Alumni Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Your voice is important.

Stanford Earth is committed to building a diverse and inclusive community. As an alum, your voice is important in the conversation.

We Believe

We believe that diversity of perspective and life experience, as well as attention to issues of equity, are integral to producing cutting-edge, high-impact research to benefit communities around the world.

Stanford Earth aims to integrate Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) throughout the fabric of its educational mission. By embedding DEI initiatives within all our programs and processes, from mentoring and teaching to planning fieldwork and making curriculum choices, we hope to dissolve the social and cultural barriers that continue to obstruct educational opportunity.

Our Efforts

Our efforts also focus on fostering an inclusive cultural climate that creates a greater sense of community for everyone, while giving visibility to individuals underrepresented in the Earth sciences, whether they be first-generation to college, low-income, ethnic and racial minorities, women, LGBTQIA+, members of faith-based groups, international students, or any other individuals who contribute to the diversity of our community.
